Current Action

San Lorenzo Creek Watershed Task Force — In October 2006 the Alameda County Board of Supervisors created a task force on creeks in the San Lorenzo watershed (see Archives below). The task force began meeting in August 2007. See Creek Task Force Website.

Corps Reform Network — A coalition of organizations concerned about the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers management of water resources, advocating for reforms to the Corps' procedures.

A freeway alongside San Lorenzo Creek? — In 2002 the Metropolitan Transportation Commission seriously considered building a new freeway and bridge across the bay, alongside San Lorenzo Creek and over the San Lorenzo Creek marshlands. This idea was killed by the efforts of a few, but don't be surprised if it surfaces again. (See "New Mid-Bay Bridge," page 21. File is PDF.)
